What Methodology Does Keith Use?Decoding - Fluency - Comprehension
In order for your child to comprehend what they read, they must be able to read fluently, in order to read fluently they must have a large sight word bank and an effective and rapid decoding strategy. It's that simple. Decoding leads to fluency which leads to comprehension...there should be no confusion on this. Keith does not use "glorified guessing." Children will learn to read, not use pictures or context clues to guess words and passage meaning. He uses a phonics based approach to decoding - he just teaches in a very different way.
Each Session is Fun! Keith uses silly voices, songs, drawing pictures, building model rockets, cooking (yes, cooking), and a variety of creative chaos to teach your child to read. Your child will actually look forward to each online reading session and ask, "When is Keith coming over?" Each online tutoring session with Keith lasts 60 minutes and includes the parent instruction component. Parents will then need to work with their child 15/20 minutes a day using Keith's techniques on the days he does not stop by online.
Rapid Cycling
Keith uses a variety of activities, games, creative skits, and techniques. The student is never engaged in any one strategy for long. Keith shifts from one strategy to another rapidly and teaches the parents to do the same. This approach works well with ADHD children.
How Much Time Does it Take? Keith's program is intense. He understands parents don't have a lot of time. If you can give his program 15 minutes of high energy a day you will get rapid results. Play the games he teaches you, do the activities and drills, and you will get tremendous gains in reading and comprehension in a short amount of time because the program is...intense.
Your child may be able to jump two grade levels in two months because Keith hones in on the sounds that are "missing" with a laser focus and attacks whatever gaps may exist in your child's reading abilities. Not being able to read fills children with shame, frustration, and even anger. Keith can change that one session at a time. Not only will you have a child that reads at grade level - you'll have a happier child.

There is NO contract required. Keith does not need a contract to retain clients - his results do that. His goal is to get your child to grade level as rapidly as possible and conclude his services. Max time of the online tutoring program is usually 3 - 4 months. Keith will visit via Zoom twice a week for tutoring sessions. After each session parents will receive instructions on exactly what to do between sessions. If parents can work with their child 15 minutes a day using Keith's techniques, they will get incredible results. |
